Non-ContactsLaw documents appear in the list of checked out documents
Background: ContactsLaw's document features are built on top of Microsoft SharePoint. Any member with access to ContactsLaw has implicit access to the underlying SharePoint document library. This is necessary in order to manage, open and edit documents.
Owing to the access granted to the SharePoint document library (described above), it is possible (but highly unadvisable) for users to save non-ContactsLaw documents to the library. This is most often done accidentally when choosing the Save As command in one of the SharePoint-enabled Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel).
Documents saved to the library outside of ContactsLaw are not accessible through the application, and may not be easily accessible after they are initially created. They do, however, appear in the list of checked out documents in ContactsLaw (if they are, in fact, checked out).
Should you encounter such a document in the list, you are advised to contact your system/network administrator. They will be able to assist in retrieving the document and moving it to a more suitable location (or registering it in ContactsLaw).
